Ministry of Tourism Launches Capital-Provincial Tourism, Safe and Green Tourism Destinations Competition

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Tourism and the National Commission for the Evaluation of Clean Cities have issued an announcement on the Procedures and Criteria for the Capital-Provincial Administrative Competition under the "Cambodia: Safe and Green Tourism Destinations" Campaign.

The competition aims to encourage the efforts of the Capital-Provincial Administration to implement tourism safety rules and implement minimum standard operating procedures (SOPs) for living in the new normal, especially to remind all tourism businesses to participate in prevention and protection against Covid-19, so they can maintain confidence and provide warmth to tourists traveling throughout Cambodia.

The Ministry also confirmed that the Capital-Provincial Administration must participate in the Capital-Provincial Administration Competition, which will start from 27 January 2022 to 30 December 2022, and the National Committee for Clean City Evaluation. The Ministry of Tourism will announce the winners on the occasion of the National Clean City Day 2023.

The Capital and Provincial Administration will provide ratings on three levels: excellent, good and moderate level.

Cambodia announced the launch of the "Cambodia: Safe and Green Tourism Destinations" campaign on 27 January to ensure the success of the re-opening of international tourism ahead of upcoming events and celebrations in Cambodia such as the South East Asian Games.
